While on a business trip in France over 22 years ago, Jerry Rosenblatt, President and Founder of French Transit, Ltd., became aware of a factory that made water purification products. He was told that the minerals also worked for personal hygiene but no one had yet discovered how to sell or market it for this purpose. Back then, the number of natural products available was negligible compared to today. Yet, he watched, listened and followed his heart. He founded French Transit, Ltd. to introduce a whole new product category, the natural deodorant stone. Crystal Body Deodorant, also known as the "Rock" began in 1984.
Henry Bendel, an upscale New York Department Store was the first retailer to carry Crystal Body Deodorant. Bendel's ran an ad for French Transit's product in the New York Times. They sold out of the "Rock" in one day. From there it snowballed.
Since the early day's of the "Rock", the Company has researched, gathered consumer feedback and developed additional products to accommodate the wide diversity of preferences among people. Today, the line comes in a Stick, Roll-On, Body Spray, Foot Spray and various Stones.
Approximately 20,000 stores carry Crystal Body Deodorant across the U.S. and Canada as well as Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and South America.
French Transit, Ltd. is a member of "The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics". We have pledged that any products made by our Company will meet the standards and deadlines set by the European Union Directive 76/768/eeC to be free of chemicals that are known or strongly suspected of causing cancer, mutation or birth defects.
The Company donates generously to Cancer Treatment Centers Nationwide, humane societies, schools, homeless shelters, fundraisers, food banks and various other charities.
